Liberal Group-Kerala was formally inaugurated on 9th Aug 2001 at a well attended function held at Windsor Castle hotel, Kottayam by Dr. V Ramachandran IAS the then Dy. Chairman of Kerala State Planning Board. Prof. Babu Joseph was elected president of the group.

Today we are bringing out an exhaustive website of the group with a e-newsletter attached to it. The website gives a vivid account of the extensive activities in which the Liberal group is actively involved in like Agriculture, Youth, Women, Healthcare, Legal Issues, Local Government and Societal values etc.

We basically believe in 1. Restoration of values or Dharma in society. 2. A limited government and decentralization of powers at all levels with a vibrant and participatory local government 3. Unleashing the creative energies of people (entrepreneurs) to the fullest extent possible as an engine of growth 4. Development of quality leadership at all levels and a well informed citizenry.

Indo - US Nuke Deal

It remains a pity that the proposed Indo- American nuclear deal still remains at the realm of protracted negotiations in the face of a threat of withdrawal of support to the congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) govt headed by Dr Manmohan Singh.

It is in this background that Liberal Group - Kerala thought of publishing an article by Dr.George samuel a well known nuclear

scientist and moralist on the need for Nuclear power as a major source of energy for India.
